The Employee Leave of Absence Manager (Benefits) - Remote Work From Home  is responsible for managing the functions related to the company Leave of Absence/FMLA and Disability absence programs in accordance with all federal and applicable multistate government regulations; including FMLA and ADA.

 

Job Description

What Would You Do? The Specifics

  • Manages the daily administration of the company’s leave of absence programs ensuring compliance with
  • Company policies and federal and state regulations such as FMLA and ADA.
  •  Formulates and recommends program goals and objectives in all areas of disability absence management.
  •  Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment with FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). Provides extensive case management.
  •  Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to employee relations team, field management and executives for complex, escalated issues.
  •  Ensures compliance of HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed as well as ensures data and document records are maintained in accordance to HIPAA compliance and accountability.
  •  Audits cases to ensure accuracy and compliance, particularly cases that triggered the interactive process under ADAAA.
  •  Assists Employee Relations and Legal with gathering information for EEO complaints and lawsuits.
  •  Manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases.
  •  Manages, leads, reviews and provides guidance to direct reports.
  •  Monitors and assists in the development of the Disability budget.
  •  Develops and successfully delivers presentations and training to various levels of management and/or internal groups as needed regarding disability, LOA, FMLA and ADA compliance.
  •  Develops and updates policies and standard operating procedures as laws and regulations change (LOA, FMLA related policies).
  •  Identifies and implements procedures to streamline administrative practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  •  7+ years LOA/Benefit experience (FMLA, ADA, Short and Long Term Disability) with multi-state employer required.
  • 2+ years in supervisory/lead role.
  •  Extensive knowledge of FMLA, LOA and ADA regulations.
  •  Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  •  DMEC and/or PHR Certification preferred.
  •  Disability/Case Management software experience required.
  •  Extensive experience in managing complex leaves cases through the interactive process.
  •  Ability to lead, develop, and manage team activities ensuring functions are executed effectively.
  •  Strong leader with the ability to interact with and influence others effectively.
