Food and Beverage Manager / Operational Development Manager
The position of Food & Beverage Development Manager (Operational) is an important one in protecting the reputation and ensuring the safety and smooth running of our food and beverage operations across 300+ cafes and tearooms at over 200 National Trust places.
This role has a major impact on how we operate, you will be joining at a really exciting time as we push forward with our bold strategy to create a food business that champions the cause and purpose of the National Trust to the millions of visitors we welcome each year.
What you'll be doing as a Operational Development Manager / Food and Beverage Manager
You’ll be taking the lead on reviewing, updating and implementing food safety standards and toolkits. Working closely with our Environmental Practices team to reduce and manage food waste and energy consumption.
You'll have
- A strong background in successfully managing multi-site operations, preferably in the not-for-profit or charitable sector
- Extensive knowledge of the UK food and beverage market, managing multi site f&b companies and large teams
- A thorough understanding of commercial operations and the drivers for customer satisfaction, repeat business, spend, margins and profitability
- Good financial awareness, demonstrable understanding and competency in budgeting, forecasting, margin mix and management and delivery against KPIs
- Able to build a strong network across a disparate organisation
- Strong operational efficiency and technical awareness
