Job Description

Part-time Event Facilitator

Reports to: Sr. Event Sales Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an onsite representative for caterers, rental clients, event planners and vendors on event days
  • Serve as a point of contact with Stewarding, Security, Production, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other SSC departments
  • Maintain concise, accurate, and team-oriented communication when making requests for clients, vendors, and staff
  • Contact Event Supervisor with issues or changes affecting day of operations
  • Oversee the set-up and break-down of all events, including third-party equipment when necessary
  • Follow BEO instructions, report back any changes
  • Prepare the event closing report after each event and submit it to the Event Supervisor
  • Work with the Event Manager and Event Supervisor to evaluate and address any event issues and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Act and dress in a professional manner at all times
  • Monitor unsecured areas and alert Security of potential issues
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service and satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required or equivalent combination of education and 1-2 years of experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least one year of catering and event management experience, preferably from within a high-end catering/event environment
  • Specific knowledge of concerts, meetings, catered functions and special events such as galas
  • Ability to work flexible and varied hours, including nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain technical and/or event-related concepts across a wide range of client types (donors, community leaders, musicians, industry trade groups, event organizers, and others)
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to client satisfaction
  • Ability to work as a team member with a positive, helpful attitude in developing creative responses and solutions to needs and issues; ability to maintain the strictest of confidence as required
  • Ability to work independently and display sound judgment
  • Strong ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
