Job Description

Reports to: VP of Artistic Administration

Employment Status: Part-Time Hourly, Non-Exempt ($17.50/hour)

Position Overview: The Retail Coordinator oversees all on-site merchandise sales associated with concerts at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The Retail Coordinator is responsible for planning and scheduling merchandise sales, setup, night-of-show sales, and post-show settlement with guest artist management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Communicate with guest artist management in advance of performance to determine all merchandise setup needs.

2.   Work with Schermerhorn Symphony Center events team to coordinate front-of-house setup needs for night-of-show merchandise sales.

3.   Staff merchandise table, and manage inventory and sales on performance nights.

4.   Conduct financial settlement of sales with guest artist management following the performance.

 

Qualifications

III. Work Requirements and Qualifications:


1Education:

 

High-school diploma required.

 

2.     Experience:

 

At least one year of customer service and sales experience strongly preferred.

 

3.     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word required.

Strong written and verbal communications skills are necessary, along with a firm command of basic mathematical functions.

Must demonstrate initiative, precise attention to detail, strong problem resolution and organizational skills.

Must be able to perform as part of a team and work effectively under deadlines.

 

2.     Physical requirements:

 

Must be present at Nashville Symphony concerts and events, and must be able to sit or stand for extended stretches of time. Must be able to work at a computer. This position also requires the ability to work on a computer or mobile device from remote locations.
