Our Mission: The Nashville Symphony inspires, entertains, and educates through excellence in musical performance.

One of Tennessee’s largest and longest-running nonprofit performing arts organizations, the Nashville Symphony has been an integral part of the Music City sound since 1946. Led by music director Giancarlo Guerrero, the 83-member ensemble performs 170 concerts annually, with a focus on contemporary American orchestral music. It is one of the most active recording orchestras in the U.S. and has earned a total of 13 GRAMMY® Awards and 24 nominations.

 

Job Description

1.                  Assist the Orchestra Librarians with transferring of bowings, photocopying of parts and scores as assigned

2.                  File, Inventory Music, and perform light office work as directed

3.                  Assist with preparing and breaking down of orchestral folders

4.                  Occasional proof-reading and checking of errata may be required

5.                  Repair and rebind music as necessary

Qualifications

1.      Education:

Bachelor’s degree in music or related field, or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience

 

2.      Experience:

Minimum of one year of experience in a music library and/or performance in an orchestra

 

3.      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Classical musical knowledge required, ability to read orchestral music

Basic knowledge of music theory, music history and foreign musical terms preferred

Highly organized and detail oriented

Ability to work independently

Strong communication skills
