Job Description

The Stage Door Receptionist greets and manages all visitors, performers and staff entering Schermerhorn Symphony Center during daytime business hours. The Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring safety and security while serving as an ambassador for the Nashville Symphony.

1.      Maintain a consistent presence at the stage door, ensuring that the area remains clean and free of obstructions.

2.      Greet, identify, screen and sign in guests as they enter.

3.      Act as central communications point for all daily building operations.

4.      Assist staff, musicians and volunteers with building entry as needed.

5.      Answer phone calls, radio calls and requests directed to the Stage Door.

6.      Manage loading dock gate calls for entry from personnel and vendors.

7.      Monitor exterior security cameras for issues related to the facility.

8.      Monitor external contractors, ID Badges, Keys

9.      Monitor alarm panels; fire, flood, generator, power, etc.

10.  Monitor temporary parking in front of the building.

11.  Receive mail and packages, promptly notifying recipients of delivery.

12.  Turn on lights as needed related to the building operations.

13.  Communicate daily with volunteer staff stationed at the third-floor reception area.

14.  Maintain familiarity with daily calendar of events and daily security requests.

Qualifications

1Education:

 

High school diploma required.

 

2.      Experience:

 

Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in customer service.

 

3.      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Strong written and verbal communications skills are necessary.

 

Must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and organizational skills.

 

Must be able to perform as part of a team and work effectively under deadlines.

 

Must dress in a professional manner.

 

4.      Physical requirements:

 

Must be able to work at a computer and sit for extended stretches of time. Must be able to walk the entirety of the building interior and exterior.
