One of Tennessee’s largest and longest-running nonprofit performing arts organizations, the Nashville Symphony has been an integral part of the Music City sound since 1946. Led by music director Giancarlo Guerrero, the 83-member ensemble performs 170 concerts annually, with a focus on contemporary American orchestral music. Job Description

Provide daily support for custodial and maintenance programs.

1.      Resolve daily custodial issues

2.      Work as onsite staff for event nights

3.      Perform internal and external detail work as needed

4.      Maintain facility exterior appearance on a daily basis

5.      Clean fountains on a daily basis

6.      Report major maintenance issues to the building engineer

7.      Maintain custodial equipment and service areas

8.      Operate and maintain exterior landscape equipment

9.      Assist Housekeeping Manager with office moves and changes

10.  Assist Supervisor with light landscaping duties

11.  Update supervisor of  cleaning contractor issues

12.  Update supervisor on supply inventory

13.  Assist maintenance team as additional manpower for special  projects

Qualifications

1.      Education:

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

2.      Experience:

 

At least three years of related experience and a minimum of one year operational management experience in a similar venue

 

3.      Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

None

 

4.      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning supplies, and external landscape cleaning equipment

 

                        Helpful attitude in developing creative response and solutions to needs and issues

 

                  Ability to work independently and use independent judgment while keeping supervisor informed of work activity and issues

              

Ability to coordinate multiple projects and balance a sense of urgency with lower priorities while maintaining calm

 

A good sense of humor and global perspective is an added plus

 

Work flexible hours depending on operational needs of the staff or required maintenance of system

 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

 

5.      Equipment to be used:

 

Power tools associated with custodial trades, personal computer, telephone, and other office machinery including copy and fax machine, etc...Use exterior cleaning equipment, powered sweeper, leaf blower, pressure washer, air compressor, personnel lift and carpet extractor.

 

6.      Physical demands:

 

The lead housekeeper will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, move continuously during work hours and be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
