Job Description

The Part Time Marketing Associate is responsible for serving on the Nashville Symphony’s telemarketing team, making outbound calls to generate subscription, group and single ticket sales and cultivating customer relationships designed to build patron satisfaction, loyalty, and concert attendance frequency. Daytime and evening hours are available and are flexible within a 20-29 hour workweek.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Place calls to prospective patrons, working from customer leads provided by the Marketing Supervisor; expected minimum of 10-20 calls per hour
  • Initiate the process of building the Nashville Symphony’s relationship with prospective patrons
  • Through these relationships, increase frequency of concerts attended and the dollar value of ticket buys
  • Confirm and keep accurate records of all calls, including ticket purchases, updates to patron data and follow-up information
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Marketing Department, working within a team concept reach individual goals as well as departmental goals
  • Develop CRM skills to a level of proficiency required for the position
  • Adhere to the ticketing and customer service policies set forth by the Director of Sales and VP of Marketing

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous phone room experience and/or inside sales or customer service experience highly recommended (or preferred)
  • Knowledge of music preferred 
  • A pleasant phone voice for outbound calls
  • Must be a highly ethical person that helps enhance the Nashville Symphony’s brand and reputation
  • Must be comfortable being placed on a revenue quota and paid on a commission-based compensation plan
  • Punctuality, dependability, strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment are a must
  • Must be highly motivated and have a skill set that includes keen attention to detail, organization and the ability to be creative and flexible while maintaining work flow
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills are a must
  • Must be comfortable with speaking on a telephone for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Knowledge of Tessitura customer relations software preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information with appreciation for the importance of protecting the privacy of donors, patrons and prospects is vital
