Founded in 1946, the 83-member orchestra is today the largest performing arts nonprofit in the state of Tennessee. Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific maintenance and repair tasks as directed for mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Repair fixtures in public spaces, theaters, offices, backstage hallways, storage areas and dressing rooms
  • Patch, paint, and restore surfaces that are worn or damaged
  • Maintain and repair doors and locks
  • Maintain 100% seating capacity
  • Install and/or remove banners and marketing materials in kiosk as directed
  • Perform daily and routine maintenance of building systems
  • Purchase supplies and parts for maintenance projects as directed
  • Assist others with production requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, drywall, carpentry, metalwork, painting, seating, and flooring
  • Ability to operate power tools associated with building trades
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending on operational needs of the staff or required maintenance of systems
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgement while keeping supervisor informed of work activity and issues
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and balance a sense of urgency with lower priorities
  • Ability to left and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver license
