Job Description

Position Summary           

The Operations Technician II is responsible for general operations activities including but not limited to faciality general repair and maintenance, purchasing, receiving, inventory management, equipment maintenance and calibration, manufacturing support. Works as an integral part of the Operations Team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement and repair of fixtures such as switches, outlets, bulbs, tubes, sockets, fuses, minor appliance, cords, water systems, etc.
  • Safely use appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Perform minor pluming maintenance such as repair of leaks, drains, faucets, clogs, trenching, draining hoses, etc.
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work such as prepping surfaces, applying paint and varnish, hanging doors, replacing locks and handles, etc.
  • Accommodate user needs and maximize office space; reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space such as furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, cabinets, etc.).
  • Perform additional work as directed to maintain a safe, secure, controlled, efficient comfortable operating/working environment.
  • Purchase, receive, and manage inventory per SOPs.
  • Develop and revise Operations SOPs, Work Instructions, and other controlled documents.
  • Replenish locations with product; consolidate items to create space as needed.
  • Continually maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with periodic cycle counts; Actively participate in annual physical inventory as required.
  • Immediately report all non-conforming, expired and damaged product found in Quality Control accepted locations.
  • Identify issues and other warehouse problems; promptly notify Supervisor of all problems.
  • Support all efforts and procedures to maintain optimal facility and operational conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required, in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and all related SOPs.
  • Maintain safe working conditions at all times; adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure manufacturing areas, warehouse, and related areas are continually kept clean.
  • Support efforts to prevent mix-up of products, materials, and other items so cycle and inventory counts are continually accurate.
  • Maintain records as per QSR, GMP and ISO guidelines.

Qualifications

Education 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree preferred 

Experience

  • At least three years previous related operations, facilities, warehouse experience; previous experience in a regulated medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.

Knowledge/Skill

  • High level problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Good interdepartmental communication skills
  • Ability to author Quality System documentation
  • Understanding of inventory and FIFO practices.
  • Familiarity with GDP and GMP, ISO 13485.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system.
