Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, results oriented and experienced Account Manager to expand business with new and existing International customers.

How will you make an impact?

The International Account Manager plays a vital role in expanding the commercial success of the company worldwide, directly developing key accounts and working with international distributors and clients. This position will work closely with Technical Services and Sales Support to ensure success of key accounts; substantial growth is likely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage direct sales to International Accounts and manage International Distributors
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings to analyze sales volume, potential sales, and target areas for client base expansion
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of nanoComposix nanomaterial catalog, nanomaterial properties, and synthetic capabilities in order to fully understand and support client needs
  • Provide sales and technical support to clients pre- and post-sale primarily via email, phone/video conference, and on-site visits
  • Assist with marketing and website strategies to support account expansion
  • Represent company at conferences, trade shows, and networking events
  • Travel to client accounts and conferences as needed
  • Utilize Salesforce-based CRM to capture critical client information and track sales funnels

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. science degrees preferably in chemistry, biochemistry or material science
  • At least 5 years of sales and account management experience including experience in developing a territory for aggressive sales growth from initial contacts, technology introductions, completion of sales contracts, and developing customer relationships to achieve recurring sales and/or increasing volume purchases
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, efficient and able to balance multiple responsibilities independently in a rapidly evolving sales environment with little supervision
  • Previous experience utilizing a CRM database (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Exceptional written and verbal English proficiency
  • US citizenship or permanent residency

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

A demonstrated successful sales track record including continually meeting quarterly sales goals. Prefer experience participating in sales teams and developing sales & strategies to accelerate sales growth.

  • Ability to learn and communicate technical and scientific product-related information
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to multi-task and have a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills
  • Ability to understand, review, and draft client agreements including NDAs, supply agreements, and MSAs
  • Energetic, proactive self-starter

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Territory:  International, based in the US (San Diego)
  • This is a full-time position operating primarily in a professional office environment
  • International & domestic travel to client accounts and tradeshows
  • Salary commensurate with experience, with bonus/commissions
