Job Description
You will act as the Technical Lead for a growing data team, collaborating closely with a Data Architect, Data Analyst, Data Quality Engineer, and Project Manager.
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of data pipelines (ETL) using AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Data Engineers and Analysts.
- Collaborate with the Data Architect to define data models, standards, and integration patterns.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security compliance across all environments.
- Implement CI/CD, automation, and monitoring for scalable and reliable data workflows.
- Drive technical decision-making, balancing performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience as a Data Engineer, including at least 2–3 years in a technical or team leadership role.
- Proven track record designing data pipelines and architectures in AWS-based environments.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, schema optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with data governance, lineage, and security frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Tech stack
- AWS Services: Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift, Athena.
- General AWS Cloud expertise: IAM, networking, infrastructure, automation, cost management.
- Python and SQL (advanced level).
- Veeva (nice to have) – experience with pharma data models or validated systems.
- Experience with data orchestration, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
Additional Information
- Previous experience in pharma, healthcare, or regulated environments (GxP/CSV)
- Familiarity with data governance or data catalog tools.
- Remote (EU-based) with occasional short trips to Italy.
