In house creative team looking for a team-first writer! 

Instant Brands is looking for an in-house creative Copywriter who can balance technical precision and creative expression, to join our growing Marketing Center of Excellence (COE).  This individual’s contributions will span digital, product and social content for some of the most dynamic and iconic brands in Housewares industry, including Instant Brands, Pyrex, Corelle, CorningWare, Snapware and Chicago Cutlery.  

We are in the business of delivering incredible home cooking solutions and rich brand experiences for consumers across the globe, so a strong interest in food, cooking and the user experience is a must.  Each of our brands has a distinct voice, so you will also need to be comfortable toggling between voices as you create compelling content that speaks to the hearts and minds of our target consumers.  Finally, the right candidate for this role must also be highly collaborative, embrace our “winning as one team” ethos and be ready to dive in with fellow, creative self-starters who are energized to learn and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.   

What you will do: 

  • Write copy and develop concepts under supervision of a senior copywriter and creative director  
  • Proofread all assignments at all phases of execution  
  • Provide support and assistance in researching for specific projects  
  • Showcase the ability to develop creative concepts that meet assignment objectives  
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current trends and behaviors  
  • Act as a team player  
  • Supervise Associate Copywriters  
  • Write for a range of formats: OLVs, social, headline-style, longer form content scripts etc.  
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience 
  • Refine and deliver on brand promise, tone, voice, and personality 
  • Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines 
  • Present completed ideas to the Global Business Unit teams 
  • Stay on top of all trends and maintain best practices 
  • Work collaboratively with Creative AOR to build on and execute against global toolkits 
  • Develop a rich understanding of our products and brands. 
  • Adhere to brand guidelines, content standards and retailer requirements 
  • This position is not static and will be revised as the need of the organization’s business evolves.  

 

Qualifications

Who we are looking for: 

  • BA in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communications or relevant work experience 
  • 6+ years of copywriting work experience, either at an agency or in-house,  
  • Experience working with large brands, global and/or CPG experience is preferred  
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal savvy, including effectively working with employees across multiple functions and geographies. 
  • Experience writing in a variety of styles with a razor-sharp eye for details (spelling, grammar and proofreading, etc.) 
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently 
  • Ability to adapt to iterative feedback and pivot accordingly 
  • Confident self-starter who is comfortable presenting/selling creative and pushing the envelope 
  • Demonstrated ability to “think on your feet,” juggle multiple activities and assignments simultaneously, while still hitting deadlines 
  • Demonstrated integrity, maturity and a solution-oriented approach to challenges 
  • Well-rounded professional writer, who can do the big and the small while maintaining a positive attitude 
  • A conceptual thinker: Can write and think visually 
  • A merciless editor: Knows how to write in a succinct and direct way 
  • A true team player who can take care of the day to day while still able to conceptualize and write big ideas 
  • A consummate collaborator: we are one Marketing COE delivering solutions across different touchpoints along consumer path to purchase
