Additionally, we are advancing voclosporin ophthalmic solution (VOS), a topical formulation, for the treatment of dry eye syndrome (DES).

Job Description

The Human Resources Operations Specialist is a valuable member of a small HR team committed to the employees, culture, and vision of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals. We are undergoing rapid organizational growth in anticipation of our first US product launch, and this is an opportunity for a Human Resource Operations Specialist who demonstrates curiosity, collaboration, and accountability. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resource Operations Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced organization.

The Human Resources Operations Specialist is responsible for proactive and transparent human resources services to all US staff in the areas of benefits administration, policy and process development and implementation, performance management, HR compliance, and benefits administration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage integration of new HCM system and ongoing benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with established internal HR policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, and conduct periodic audits, making recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in facilitating Performance Management Process and Talent Review processes
  • Ensure program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. These include but are not limited to confidentiality, labor laws, FMLA, etc.
  • Respond to general policy questions from employees and managers and advise them on HR policy and practice
  • Manage specific projects as determined by the Senior Director, HR Operations and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years proven experience as an HR Operations Specialist
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources-related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed below
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Proficiency in knowledge of HRIS systems (ADP TotalSource and Ceridian a plus)
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, ADP)
  • Helps administer benefit programs, including processing enrollments, changes and terminations and supports employees understanding of benefits.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, offboarding, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance;
  • High degree of discretion and judgment in confidential matters and information

  • Broad understanding of issues and compliance related to human resource responsibility and laws
