Aurinia is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapies in disease areas of high unmet medical need. We are currently developing voclosporin, an investigational drug, for the treatment of Lupus Nephritis (LN) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Additionally, we are advancing voclosporin ophthalmic solution (VOS), a topical formulation, for the treatment of dry eye syndrome (DES).

Job Description

The Director of Healthcare Professional (HCP) Marketing will help lead the launch of voclosporin in lupus nephritis (LN). This includes supporting the marketing team in the development of the HCP launch campaign, including brand messages and multichannel tactics. A key driver of success for the brand will be a flawless tactical execution of all HCP-focused initiatives at launch. The Director will lead the evolution of the HCP marketing strategy and brand plan over time. The individual will play a critical role in the short- and long-term planning processes for HCP-focused initiatives for the brand to maximize revenue. The Director will partner with sales leadership in the training of the sales organization and in the execution of the brand strategy in the field through launch. This role will also work closely with commercial colleagues in Commercial Operations and Market Access. The individual will also be responsible for close collaboration with key Aurinia colleagues in Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, Finance and Corporate Communications to facilitate the successful execution of all HCP marketing initiatives leading up to and through launch. This position will report to the VP, Marketing and may have direct report(s) over time.

• Drives HCP marketing strategy and development and execution of HCP tactics in the brand plan, including disease awareness
• Works collaboratively with other members of the marketing team to support the product launch and to strategically position the product in a potentially competitive environment
• Supports the marketing team in managing the ongoing life cycle of the brand
• Partners with Commercial Operations to develop and execute the company’s first speaker’s bureau and peer-to-peer educational programs
• Establishes relationships with industry organizations and national and regional thought-leaders in the lupus and lupus nephritis space
• Responsible for development and execution of National and Regional HCP Advisory Boards
• Works closely with Commercial Operations and Sales to ensure effectiveness of marketing resources and tools for the sales team
• Owns the strategy and execution for the brand’s National and Regional Congress/Convention presence
• Leads the HCP media strategy and execution across multi-channel tactics
• Partners with Market Access to support the development of key payer presentations, including value-proposition and HEOR slide decks
• Works collaboratively with members of the Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR) review team and serves as key member of the internal review and submission process of all HCP marketing materials
• Engages and partners with cross-functional team members, including Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs and Corporate Communications to ensure strategic alignment across all HCP marketing initiatives
• Identifies and manages agency partners and vendors to support marketing activities
• Recommends and supports key market research projects to enhance HCP initiatives
• Develops HCP yearly budget and long-term marketing forecast for finance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of successive marketing experience within pharmaceutical/biotech industry
• Marketing and product launch experience with rare disease and/or autoimmune drugs
• Launching and marketing products with specialty pharmacy distribution models, patient service centers, and potentially nursing support services
• Good understanding of the market access environment in the US and potential impact on brand planning
• Experience and understanding of induction and maintenance treatments
• Market development experience
• Experience in a smaller pharma/start-up environment
• Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functional areas
• Must be a clear communicator with the ability to articulate commercial strategies and drive executable plans
• Strong understanding and commitment to the legal and regulatory environment for promoting and launching pharmaceutical products in the US Skills
• Analytical and forward thinker, results oriented, self-organized and self-starter
