Job Description

Full-time (Also looking for on call during the day shift)

NVE has a requirement for one (1) Janitor to support the Florida Regional Center building in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The opening is for Day Shift work. The candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather and empty trash
  • Sweep, mop, or vacuum building floors
  • Clean restrooms and stock them with supplies
  • Lock doors to secure buildings
  • Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment
  • Wash windows, walls, and glass
  • Make minor building repairs
  • Notify managers when a building needs major repairs
  • Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carrying out cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Janitors and building cleaners use many tools and equipment. Simple cleaning tools may include mops, brooms, rakes, and shovels. Other tools may include snowblowers, floor buffers, and carpet extraction equipment.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Eligible candidates will have Proven working experience as a janitor, the ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery, knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets, integrity and ability to work independently, and a High school degree. Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
