Application Architect Job Description

The Application Architect will play a key role in shaping the strategy and implementation of applications at XXXX . The Architect will assist the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and the Vice President, Development Services to develop, review and revise application roadmaps and provide technical leadership to key strategic and transformative programs. The Architect will be primarily responsible for the creation and rationalization of solutions as well as the communication of the same to both business and technology stakeholders and providing guidance to the delivery teams.

What will you do?

·         Analyze and provide recommendations regarding the viability of XXXX applications and related development processes and procedures.

·         Assist with the management of the application portfolio in terms of technology currency, business agility, technology evolution, business fit, opportunities to improve efficiencies and total cost of ownership.

·         Define secure, end-to-end technical solutions that take into account the XXXX’s architecture strategies, current state environment and constraints.

·         Meet application timeline, budget and quality requirements.

·         Collaborate with business and technology partners to translate features and requirements to technical design and act as the lead technical authority, as necessary, on the program or project.

·         Work with Data Architecture, Security Architecture, Infrastructure SME’s and project teams to ensure that all aspects of the application are defined in conjunction with our XXXX’s standards, policies, priorities and best practices.

·         Present technical solutions in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.

·         Facilitate small- to large-group meetings for reviewing technical architecture, decision making and problem-solving.

·         Develop the necessary application architecture artifacts (e.g., Architecture Blueprint, Architecture Decisions, Application Roadmap)

What do you need to succeed?

·         Bachelor or Master's degree in the field of computer science or similar technical area.

·         10+ years of architecture experience implementing solutions on large projects within enterprise environments and have a solid understanding of data governance, security, privacy and resilient systems

·         Delivers high-quality results with limited guidance and willingly trains, guides and positively influences others.

·         Effectively communicates to diverse technical and nontechnical audiences.

·         Possesses strong foundational technical skill sets and architecture experience which can be leveraged as use of current and newer technologies is expanded in applications.

·         Ability to influence teams to a future state while understanding the need to make practical. decisions along the way.

·         Knowledge of multiple development technologies including but not limited to .NET and Java.

·         Experience with Cloud Services (Azure, AWS) and Zero-Trust Network implementations.

·         Experience working in Asset Management/Financial Services is a plus.

·         Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills.

·         The ability to collaborate with a diverse group of people.

·         Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and must be able to manage multiple requests at the same time.

·         High motivation, self-starting, ability to work with minimal direct supervision, takes ownership.
