Job Description

We’re looking for a Paralegal who’s ready to make an impact across a diverse portfolio of legal matters, from corporate and regulatory to complex international projects.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a passionate in-house legal team on high-profile deals and strategic projects across Australia and Southeast Asia. You’ll play a key role in supporting our legal operations, contract management and compliance framework.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide effective legal and administrative support to the Legal Team
  • Support the legal team in preparing, reviewing, negotiating and managing a wide range of contracts.
  • Research and analyse legal issues to support innovative approaches to the provision of legal advice
  • Coordinate document approvals and execution, maintain legal registers, and support corporate governance processes.
  • Undertake project tasks and provide reports in relation to legal and contract management issues
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge in relation to NEXTDC’s business (including policies and procedures) and the legal practice areas in which the paralegal works 
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Our team is hiring this casual position to work with us 2 days a week (what days may be flexible to your schedule). We are happy to consider applications from Canberra or Brisbane based candidates.

 

Qualifications

  • High degree of integrity and trust
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent drafting skills, highly organised and a high attention to detail
  • Strong academic results
  • Ability to work independently on tasks as well as within a team, build relationships with other business functions and become a trusted advisor (legal, finance, compliance etc)
  • Working knowledge of the fundamental legal provisions of commercial contracts
  • Experience within a law firm or office environment desirable but not essential
