Job Description

As our Field Services Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable operation, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems across a large portfolio of data centres.

Here you’ll be able to combines technical leadership, operational oversight, and compliance with sustainability and safety standards.

What you’ll do:

Technical Expertise & Leadership 

  • Serve as key stakeholder across all electrical infrastructure-related activities, from design to operation
  • Oversee HV, MV, and LV systems, including substation management and switching (up to 66kV)
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to optimise system performance and address incidents
  • Provide mentorship on high-voltage (HV) systems and ensure the safe application of HV practices

Operations & Maintenance 

  • Provide SME review and detail for managing electrical infrastructure for single and multi-facility campuses
  • Assist with planning and implementing maintenance schedules, system operations, and outage protocols
  • Develop and approve standard operating procedures (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs)

Compliance & Safety 

  • Lead initiatives that enforce safety, security, and compliance in all operations
  • Ensure adherence to local regulations and standards for HV assets and infrastructure 
  • Interface with network supply authorities for both planned and unplanned activities

Commissioning & Validation 

  • Partner with commissioning teams to test and validate electrical systems
  • Drive improvements to HV infrastructure in collaboration with energy and design teams

We are happy for this position to be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney

Qualifications

  • 5 + years in a similar role with relevant trade qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and standards for HV infrastructure
  • Hands-on expertise with electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, SCADA, and earthing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and operate high-voltage networks up to 66kV
  • Proven skills in stakeholder collaboration and cross-functional communication
