Job Description

  • Develop and maintain construction safety management system procedures and guidance material
  • Review and critique external partner project-specific safety management plans and client requirements
  • Participate in High Risk workshops with the project management team
  • Undertake routine onsite construction inspections to ensure safety issues are appropriately identified, assessed and risks are mitigated
  • Complete site inspection reports, including findings and following up on the implementation of corrective actions
  • Manage reporting processes for customer projects as well as internal reporting
  • Monitor compliance with the safety standards, systems and procedures
  • Ensure both personnel and plant/equipment are appropriately inducted for internal projects
  • Assist the site team with prestart briefings, training and toolbox meetings for internal projects
  • Assist with internal and external audits and customer requests for information
  • Management of incident reporting, investigations and recommendations
  • Monitor external contractor injury management processes and Return to Work plans where required
  • Review of subcontractor safety documentation, ensuring compliance under statutory guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • A passion for the construction industry and creating safe workplaces
  • 10 + years construction site-based experience and 5+ years in a safety focussed role
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills including consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
