Job Description

We are currently looking for a Data Centre Technician to join the facilities team which operates on a 24/7 basis. 
 
We have opportunities based in Port Melbourne, Tullamarine and West Footscray, the purpose of this role is to support the Facility Management team with the day-to-day operations of the data centre by providing high quality & efficient technical maintenance and customer service. 

The successful candidate will be required to work a 4-5 day on/off rotating shift roster, the day shifts are from 7am - 7pm and the night shifts from 7pm - 7am. 
 
Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist with customer equipment installations  
  • Attend to Remote Hands requests ensuring they are delivered to specification and within SLAs 
  • Provisioning of customer supporting infrastructure (power and connectivity) 
  • Assist with monitoring and maintenance of all critical infrastructure including electrical and mechanical systems 
  • Ensure that any facility incidents are identified, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner 
  • General facility maintenance and upkeep, ensuring we deliver a quality service, and the site is maintained in a world class condition for our customers.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service, communication skills and a 'can do' attitude 

  • Basic knowledge of data centres, data cabling and cable management 

  • A passion for learning about data centres and how things work! 

  • Keen interest in solving and fixing problems 

  • TAFE Cert III in Telecommunications (desirable) 

  • Candidates MUST be Australian Citizens because of security clearance requirements
