Job Description

The City Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective management of day to day operations at the S1, S2 and soon to be built S3 NEXTDC facilities in Sydney, including the management of facility staff and contractors, overseeing maintenance and ensuring quality delivery of NEXTDC and contracting services. 

 You will manage your team effectively to ensure you are working as One Team to successfully deliver a world-class customer experience and guaranteeing uptime of 100%.  Through effective workflow management, you will guarantee all customer provisioning services are completed to a high standard, as well as handling escalations within a timely manner.

At NEXTDC we focus on continuous improvement of our Data Centres, ensuring that we continue down the path of obtaining best of breed for NEXTDC.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience of data centre or critical facilities experience with a deep knowledge of critical building systems including electrical and mechanical configurations, fire protection, building management systems, rack management, design and installation, with a good understanding of high-density data centre power, cooling approaches and technologies.  Alternatively, if you have similar experience from a 24/7 critical facility such as a hospital or airport, we would love to hear from you.

You will possess exceptional team management, planning, organising and analytical skills with experience in Project Management and Design & Build.  Holding Degree or trade qualification in Engineering/Business/Electrical or Mechanical or similar with a familiarity in UTI (Uptime Institute) Standards.

Also needed will be experience with operational reporting (including incident and technical change management), capacity planning and budget forecasting, as well as experience writing effective business cases.
