Job Description

At NEXTDC we are building the heart of Australia’s internet infrastructure.  NEXTDC’s corporate and customer facing networks have grown rapidly as we have gone from a start-up to scale up over the last 7 years.  During these phases of growth we have maintained a small team of highly skilled network engineers.  As the first Network Systems Manager at NEXTDC, you will be tasked with optimising project and maintenance such that we can maintain our competitive edge in rapidly growing market. Working with Network Engineers to ensure the smooth operation and on-time delivery of: 

  • Data Centre Interconnects 

  • AXON Ethernet 

  • Corporate network & security systems 

  • Optimisation of network hardware and software maintenance spend 

  • Guiding the use (and in some cases the development of) network management software

Qualifications

Skills

  • Understanding of packet networks (IP and Ethernet) 

  • Working with large numbers of technical stakeholders 

  • Business analysis in technology and / or telecommunications sectors 

  • Reporting and management customer escalation

Experience/Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working in packet data networks. 

  • 2 experience working in a telecommunications company or large enterprise. 

  • Managing budgets operational budgets >$500k, and project budgets >$2m.
