Job Description
NETZSCH Pumps USA, the US subsidiary of the Pumps & Systems business unit, is looking for a Production Planner to join the team based out of the Exton, PA facility. This person organizes the manufacturing and assembly according to demands and ensures the orders are completed on time in an efficient way. In addition this person will:
- Schedule production orders effectively for assembly and manufacturing based on material availability and capacity, while maintaining the customer requested dates.
- Maintain the production plan through continuous monitoring and analyzing that focuses on critical orders while balancing the capacities effectively
- Prioritize production orders and effectively communicate these priorities to the responsible parties and managers of the departments
- Expedite components with vendors to meet customer requested delivery dates in coordination with purchasing.
- Create production orders and their packages for release to the factory floor.
- Initiate delivery process of machine orders and coordinating with the logistics department on the shipping priorities.
- Notify internal stakeholders promptly about any changes to the production schedule
- Responsible for identifying return to stock items from production orders and providing their proper label to assembly.
- Responsible for production order packages throughout their life cycle and providing necessary documents/documentation when requested from internal members of the team.
- Investigate production problems, analyze and identify the root causes, then provide solutions to resolve.
- Escalate complex issues to respective department managers for timely resolution
- Support inventory management of components to avoid shortages and excesses with the goal of improving throughput time of orders
- Support cost controlling in profitability analysis
- Responsible for on time delivery and backlog KPI
- Actively participate in Kaizen projects
Qualifications
Ideal candidates have at least two years experience and/or training in a similar role, or a bachelor's degree will be considered in lieu of experience. In addition candidates will:
- Be well-versed in metal manufacturing and assembly procedures.
- Be well-organized and result-driven with great problem-solving skills
- Have proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office. Must have experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
- Be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Have the ability to problem solve and use analytical skills to think ahead.
- Have the ability to work in both an office and production environment.
