Job Description
We are looking for Applications Support Engineer to join our Resource Engineering team. If you are experienced in maintaining operational service for DSX/Vision suite of products, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for someone with experience in fault finding DSX & Vision product suite of solution/s at both hardware and software levels. This is a fast-paced environment, so it is essential that you can manage a changing list of priorities.
Location: Fareham (Hampshire)
Working Pattern: 2 x days 07.00 – 19.00, 2 x nights 19.00 – 07.00, 4 days off. 24/7/365 shift pattern
Purpose of the role:
This is a significant role to be a part of a dedicated team supporting and maintaining NEC Public Safety solutions.
This role reports into the MCA Communications systems Support Engineer for the organisation, and is focused on triage of incidents, incident resolution and proactive maintenance of NEC Public Safety systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Fault finding NEC Public Safety’s DSX & Vision product suite of solution/s at both hardware and software levels.
- When required, create, review and update NEC Public Safety Engineering documentation, for example workplans, work instructions and technical guides
- To liaise with several 3rd party providers and internal teams to coordinate various activities and gather / provide information required to complete the tasks at hand.
- On occasions to work from other MCA locations.
- Customer contact on both a technical and non-technical level requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction / service.
- To answer queries made by the customer on NEC Public Safety managed products, operational/configuration or performance enhancing.
- To follow and adhere to NEC Public Safety and MCA outlined process & procedures.
- To complete all activities within set deadlines and report appropriately any difficulties to achieve SLA/delivery milestones.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate:
- Experience at either 1st or 2nd line level of a service desk environment
- Experience of Shift working Day and night. Fixed 12-hour shift rotation.
- Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
- Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server up to 2016
- Working knowledge of MSSQL Application
- Practical experience in TCP/IP network support
- MS Business Applications experience including Excel, Visio, Word
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proven experience working to ITIL best practices
