Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Sales/Business Development professional with demonstrable experience in winning work in Central Government. Our role is Home Based, with frequent travel to customer/potential customer sites. We like work that has a tangible impact on society – and we’re looking for an individual who is confident they can win more of this.

Our Business Development Managers play a strategically important role in driving the impact of our UCD Managed Services. We’re revolutionising the way Central Government Services are built, and if you think you have the contacts to help – we want to hear from you. We have a great book of existing clients, who will be maintained to ensure our products and offerings reach the right people, but we also have a huge focus on New Business. We’re looking for the people who like to get out there and make the big wins in a highly complex, competitive market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategically engage with Central Government departments such as BEIS, DLUHC, Home Office, DFE, DfT, DEFRA, MoJ, and HMPSS, fostering strong relationships and showcasing the capabilities of NEC Digital Studio - leading with an approach that keeps the User at the centre of everything we do.
  • Identify key stakeholders and build political maps for each department, collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to determine the most effective communication strategies.
  • Create trusted partnerships within the prioritised key departments, promoting our socially impactful design and build offerings.
  • Processing opportunities in accordance with NEC SWS sales governance process.
  • Understand the business challenges faced by government organisations and propose solutions that leverage our capabilities – allowing us to fix the problems our clients have in a way that helps everyone.
  • Analyse opportunities within Digital Outcomes 6  and other procurement routes and develop comprehensive business plans for new capabilities.
  • Collaborate with our Practice Leads and Heads of Practice to develop innovative pitching strategies and deliver compelling presentations that demonstrate our expertise and value proposition.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Central Government structures and with established contacts within these departments is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying and achieving high value yearly sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of Central Government procurement including Digital Outcomes with the ability to leverage this knowledge strategically.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management Software and building a pipeline within this
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across internal and external organisations.
  • It would be desirable for you to have experience working alongside User Centred Design Professionals
