We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS data services, data modelling techniques, ETL design patterns, data warehousing principles, an analyst mindset with data visualisation skills. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, analytics tools, and data solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data pipelines using AWS services like RDS, S3, Glue, Redshift, and Kinesis. 

  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data solutions are reliable for data exploration, visualisations, and reporting. 

  • Develop and implement data governance and security measures. 

  • Implement ETL processes and work with data formats like JSON, CSV, XML, etc. 

  • Optimize and tune AWS resources for performance and cost efficiency. 

  • Stay current with AWS updates, new data technologies, and strategies. 

  • Develop and implement data migration strategies.  

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience

  • Extensive experience in data engineering with AWS services. 

  • Proven experience with AWS data services like S3, Glue, Redshift, and Kinesis. 

  • History of working on data migration projects.  

  • Hands on experience with creating visualisations in Tableau and Quicksight 

  • Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.) 

  • Understanding of data structures, data modelling, and software architecture. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • AWS Certified Big Data or AWS Certified Data Analytics certification is a plus. 

Experience in other cloud platforms are also desirable.
