Diabetic Eye Screener
An opportunity has arisen to join the Surrey DESP. We are looking for someone to join the screening team covering clinics throughout the area.
This is a full-time permanent contract.
Our screeners are the heart of NEC Care spending time on the ground, helping our patients. As a screener, once you have been trained up and met all our competencies, you will run local clinics on your own, for our patients and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. We'll need you to be empathetic and able to talk to patients. You'll be supported whilst undertaking your training, but once completed will be working largely unsupervised in a pressured environment, so a cool head is essential!
Your local base will be Redhill, and you will be expected to undertake clinics mainly in Redhill, Horley, Oxted, Dorking, Molesey, Leatherhead and Epsom, but you will also be required to cover very occasional clinics further afield in Surrey, including (but not limited to): Cranleigh, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Ashford and Haslemere.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to join the healthcare sector, with little to no experience, has a great sense of customer service and great interpersonal skills.
Who you'll be?
We want to make sure you are set for success; This isn't all about your skills and that is why we would love to talk to you even if perhaps you don't fit all the below.
- Customer focused with brilliant interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks
- Good problem-solving skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Good IT skills, using a laptop with Microsoft Office
- Any previous experience working with the public is ideal
- A full driving licence and your own transport
We pride ourselves in offering an excellent benefits package, including an above average pension scheme. When you join the team at NEC Software Solutions, you are provided with the following:
- Private Medical Cover funded by NEC for Employees (with the option to add family members at an additional cost)
- 25 days paid holiday with the option to buy/sell
- 4 x basic salary life assurance cover funded by NEC (with the option to increase cover at an additional cost)
- A Group Pension Plan with fantastic employer contributions up to a maximum of 8.5%
- A selection of flexible benefits to suit your individual needs
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.
All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting and reference checks. Depending on the nature of the role a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required.
