Job Description
Join our dynamic technical team as a UNIX/Linux Engineer, providing expertise and support for internal and customer systems. Collaborate closely with the team to deliver UNIX/Linux projects for existing and new clients. Thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment!
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer, analyze, and resolve OS and software issues across multiple UNIX and Linux systems.
- Support Pre-Sales and Sales teams in developing client solutions.
- Assist in onboarding new customers and implementing solutions for existing ones.
- Execute controlled build, reconfiguration, and upgrade work.
- Develop and maintain systems configuration and procedural documentation.
- Participate in the Advanced 24x7 on-call support rotation.
- Apply OS patches, upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools.
- Conduct root cause problem investigations.
- Utilize configuration management tools for access and security.
- Occasional client site visits.
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Solaris, RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu.
- Experience with Orchestration/Configuration Management tools.
- Managing full application stacks.
- Supporting complex infrastructures.
- Project progression from design to delivery.
- Good understanding of UNIX/Linux system design and configuration.
- Experience with 3rd party vendors.
- On-call and out-of-hours support.
- Software management experience.
- Virtualization experience.
- Knowledge of scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.
Desirable Skills:
- Systems administration experience in Managed Services.
- Experience with cloud technologies.
- Experience with containerization.
- Familiarity with web technologies.
- Understanding of RDBMS databases, particularly Oracle.
- Knowledge of network security.
- Experience with NetApp for NAS and SAN.
- Experience with Backup Solutions.
- Configuration and management experience with MTAs.
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree or relevant experience.
- ITIL Foundation V3.
- Successful completion of CCAT online examination
