Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the South West London eye screening programme. We are particularly looking for someone to join the screening team to cover clinics in the Croydon area.

Our screeners are at the heart of NEC Care, spending their time on the ground, helping our patients to live longer healthier lives. As one of our retinal screeners, you'll run local clinics to see our service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. We need you to be empathetic and able to talk to people about their health and eye images on a daily basis. In this role, you will be supported whilst undertaking training, but once that is completed will be working largely unsupervised in a sometimes pressured environment, so a cool head is essential! All in all, we want you to be customer and people focused, caring about our service users and being passionate about delivering an exceptional service at all times.

This role will be mainly based in the Croydon area, working weekdays and potentially some Saturdays, with core work hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm on any given day that is worked. This is a permanent, full time post and the successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours across 5 days per week. On occasion there may also be the need to cover clinics further afield across South West London.

  • organised and able to prioritise tasks
