We’ve designed user-centred services for government agencies including: Home Office, Department for Education (DfE), NHS Digital and NHSX. 

We’ve also designed digital products and solutions for organisations including Lloyds, Cancer Research UK and Comic Relief.

Job Description

  • Location: UK - Home and Office Working - London and Glasgow based staff are expected to regularly use our studios for collaboration, quiet working and meeting others. For remote staff we have optional access to business lounges across the UK.
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £32,000 – £45,000 with a London weighting of £35,100 – £49,900

We’re the ‘user-centered design partner’ for the Home Office, Department for Education, the NHS and others. We also work with local government, charity and private sector organisations

This means we’re embedded in their teams for projects and you’ll move on to different sectors after 3 - 12 months. We want you to get a variety of experiences, from applying GDS (government digital service) standards to improving customer buy-in.

We’re looking for an product / interaction designer who can:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including service designers, content designers, user researchers and software engineers to meet user needs
  • Design intuitive, inclusive and accessible services for government, third and private sector organisations
  • Communicate clearly and help clients to put user needs at the centre of their services
  • Champion user-centred design by working in the open and frequently sharing the thinking and evidence behind your work
  • Contribute to our interaction design community and work alongside 7 other like-minded and highly skilled interaction designers

Qualifications

We’d like to hear from you if you have any of these skills or experiences:

  • Have experience in designing products, services or a design related degree
  • Are experienced at sketching and prototyping in different fidelities
  • Are experienced in explaining your designs in a way that other people understand
  • Can work in the open and collaborate well with others
  • Are skilled at designing intuitive, accessible, responsive user interfaces
  • Can interpret user research and analytics to inform your design decisions
