JOB DETAILS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under direction of the Quality Manager, responsible for the effectiveness of and continuous improvements to the area quality system.

​Specific Duties:

  • Promotes continuous improvement in environmental and safety issues by ensuring that equipment is designed, modified or repaired to maintain and improve safety and environmental performance.
  • Reacts immediately to safety issues as they arise.
  • Follows all environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Supervises Quality Analysts and Quality Technicians as required.
  • Determines principle defects by cost, quantity and attribute. Analyzes data and determines causal factors to assist other functions in developing corrective and preventative action.
  • Develops and maintains a defect prevention system through the use of Quality Plans and Advanced Quality Planning Techniques.
  • Conducts in-plant audits for compliance of all functions to internal, group (or division), and corporate policies and procedures as related to quality.
  • Conducts product audits to ensure compliance to specifications, and other customer requirements.
  • Assists Quality Manager in preparing and establishing procedures and work instructions for the improvement of the plant quality system.
  • Conducts capability studies on both present and new equipment and processes, and provides documentation for production samples.
  • Analyzes customer complaints and determines action required to prevent reoccurrence. If required, makes visits to customer plants to expedite resolution of quality problems and/or make necessary reports to group for their use with customers.
  • Establishes effective training for supervisors, inspectors and operators as related to quality.
  • Establishes Quality Plans and analyzes results for incoming, in-process and final inspections for necessary corrective action. Utilizes statistical methods where appropriate.
  • Studies effectiveness of present inspection techniques. Remains informed of new inspection techniques, and recommends/implements improvements as required.
  • Serves as team member for Quality Improvement Programs,
  • Advanced Quality Planning efforts and Problem Solving Groups.
  • Utilizes statistical methods where needed.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four year degree in Engineering or Business field.
  • Associates degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of manufacturing can be substituted for 4 year degree requirement.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing environment or quality field.
  • Familiar with problem solving tools such as 8D, 3Legged, 5Why, or any other such tools.
  • Ability to use personal computer for day to day business
