Job Description

As the Quality Assurance Engineer you will be responsible for testing and validating various aspects of the operational system, with a focus on security, functionality, performance, usability, and compliance, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of the Digital ID technology solution.

You will work with others responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving the Branch’s technology solutions by helping to ensure testing effort is well aligned with the quality outcomes of the branch. You will utilise various automated testing tools and techniques to confirm that systems and services function as specified, while also validating the operating environment, tools and processes are behaving appropriately.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for defining clear acceptance criteria across functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring that systems, features, and business processes meet expected outcomes and deliver business value. You will design and execute comprehensive test cases and scenarios, collaborating closely with project teams to achieve full test coverage and continuously improve testing practices. Your role involves assessing system behaviour through both manual and automated testing, while leveraging tools to evaluate security, usability, and accessibility. You will ensure compliance with organisational standards, policies, and regulations, supporting audits and communicating findings to stakeholders to strengthen technology outcomes. Additionally, you will oversee the testing of system changes—including regression, performance, and security testing—to ensure seamless integration and high quality. By actively participating in requirements, analysis, and design phases, and working closely with developers, business analysts, and cybersecurity teams, you will provide continuous feedback and help deliver solutions that meet both technical and user expectations.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of test case design, execution, and defect management
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

  • Understanding of security, usability, and accessibility testing principles
  • Awareness of compliance, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
