Job Description

We are currently looking for a strong Cloud Architect (AWS) with a solid background in building scalable, resilient, and secure solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You must have a background in solving complex technical challenges and leading a teams to success. We're looking for a talented individual to join our growing and dynamic technology team. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our cloud strategy, responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud architecture. You'll work with a wide range of AWS services, ensuring our platform is not only performant and cost-effective, but also at the forefront of the industry. Responsibilities

  • Design and Build: Lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud architecture on AWS, focusing on security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Innovate: Drive the adoption of new AWS services and cloud technologies to keep our platform at the forefront of the industry.
  • Lead and Mentor: Guide and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with product, development, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Optimize: Continuously assess and optimize our AWS infrastructure for performance and cost.

Qualifications

Skills/Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect, specifically with AWS.
  • Deep expertise in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, ECS/EKS, IAM).
  • Proven ability to design and implement highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • An AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional) is a significant plus.

AWS Experience

  • Handson and Container skillset experience.
  • AWS Kubernetes/EKS Golang (software engineering mindset - unit/integration testing, clean code, modularity, build REST APIs)
  • Cloud Native Technologies - Istio, Gateway API, External DNS - ArgoCD, Kustomize,
  • GitOps
  • Crossplane (or exposure to some kind of Kubernetes Resource Model)
  • Kyverno/OPA - Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager
  • Operator Frameworks (Kubebuilder/Operator SDK)
  • Docker
  • Some Terraform to bootstrap the bootstrap cluster
  • Platform Engineering
