Job Description

Join a forward-thinking organisation, setting up its modern data analytics platforms. We’re seeking Senior Data and DevOps Engineers who love automation and are committed to building scalable, repeatable processes.  At the end of a good day, you will have optimized workflows and minimized manual interventions in Snowflake data pipelines. The efficient and reliable systems that you build will grow with the needs of the organization. As a leading member of a high performing team, you will play a key role in the development of innovative teams in the organisation. Because of the quality and maintainability of the data platform you build, and the team culture that thrives on creativity, continuous improvement, and shared success, data, analytics and AI become drivers across the organisation.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of our data architecture and pipelines and have a strong background in data warehousing and ETL processes. You will be working to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise level data and analytics applications using the Snowflake platform.

The role focuses on designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ELT processes, optimizing data storage and retrieval in a cloud data warehouse, and ensuring data security through encryption, role-based access control, and data masking. The role also involves implementing data quality and governance practices, collaborating with data scientists and analysts to meet their data needs, mentoring junior data engineers while promoting best practices, and staying up-to-date with emerging data technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in data engineering roles
  • Strong experience with cloud data warehousing, particularly Snowflake
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, optional Scala
  • Experience with data pipeline tools and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with data management tools like Alation and integration tools like Workato and BI tools including Power BI
  • Experience in dimensional data modeling and database design principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
