Job Description

NCBA CLUSA is currently seeking 2 (1- remote US volunteer and 1- volunteer based in Ecuador) qualified Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer candidates for the position of Digital Marketing Specialist to support Federación de Pequeños Exportadores Agropecuarios Orgánicos del Sur de la Amazonia Ecuatoriana or Federación (APEOSAE) based in Centinela del Cóndor, Ecuador.

In 2005, producers, private and public institutions, and government representatives met to analyze productive chain problems in cacao, coffee, and plantain in the southern area of the Ecuadorian Amazon.  The result of that meeting was the establishment of APEOSAE in June 2006 followed by the formation of "Federación APEOSAE," (comprised of multiple organizations, associations, companies, and other business types in the same production line) in 2014.  Federación APEOSAE needs to enhance digital marketing and take advantage of social media to have a broader market and better income. This organization has a webpage, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter which need to be updated and used for marketing.  Most of the members are elderly and do not consider the internet an essential tool to promote their products but the Board of Directors believes that this would be a great way to increase youth participation in the federation.  They want to create youth groups who will be responsible for social media and digital promotion of their products: dried cacao, parchment coffee, peeled plantain, plantain chips, roasted ground coffee.
