Job Description

NCBA CLUSA is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Ag Educator to support Cooperative Agraria Allima Cacao, based in San Martín, Peru. The Ag Educator provides teaching methodologies to help the extension agents affiliated with the cooperative, better equip the cooperative members with useful knowledge.  This cooperative has their own extension agents who provide technical support to members; however, the coop has recognized that only 10% of its members are using the methods thus negatively impacting their production rate and long-term goals).  Allima Cacao leaders attribute this low implementation rate to the extension agents not knowing how to effectively relay information and would like teacher training.

Duration: 3 weeks, March- June (Due to the global impact of COVID-19, Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer assignments are tentatively scheduled to restart summer 2020)

  • Assess the current methods used by Allima Cacao extension agents in the field
  • Provide recommendations for training methods/techniques that will increase adoption of content
  • Lead Training-of-Trainers workshops that will facilitate communication and delivery of content by the extension agents

  • Degree in Ag Education and/or a similar field
