Job Description

NCBA CLUSA is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Product Development Specialist to support MUJERES EMPRENDEDORAS AL ÉXITO (MUJALE), based in La Paz, Honduras. The Product Development Specialist will work with members of this women’s social enterprise to assist them with new product development. Currently they produce and sell coffee-based bar-soap, but would like to introduce cosmetics, body scrubs, lotions, etc.  The volunteer will help expand their limited knowledge in creating new products using readily available resources such as of coffee by-products, herbs, and aloe vera (an extensive aloe vera based product line already exists). A volunteer with experience preparing these coffee-based, handcrafted products would be exceptional, as these women are enthusiastic about providing for their families’ well-being.

 

Duration: 2 weeks July- September 2019

 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

·         Collaborate with members to develop new coffee by-products using available resources.

·         Recommend packaging strategies for the products developed.

·         Provide recommendations on operation expansion, to include purchase of equipment and supplies

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Experience in product development with a focus on handcrafted bath and body/cosmetic products

·         Knowledge of coffee by-products.

·         Minimum BS in Marketing and Branding desired

·         Candidate must be legally able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

·         Advanced Spanish is a plus (However a translator will be available if needed)
