We currently work in 21 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Job Description

NCBA CLUSA is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Cooperative Governance Volunteer to support Asociación Cooperativa de Producción Agropecuaria “Para el Desarrollo De Morazán (ACOPADM) based in Morazán, El Salvador. The Cooperative Governance Volunteer will help the board of directors and members of the cooperative identify skill gaps that might impact the cooperative’s development. Additionally, he or she will provide a training on how to address and overcome these gaps. It is desired that the training includes conflict resolution, board meeting moderation and, board member roles and responsibilities. Group activities are also desirable to encourage teambuilding.

Duration: 2 weeks in July- September

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

·  Conduct organization and capacity assessment to determine best teambuilding exercises to strengthen linkages between board members Analyze and assess the board of directors

·  Provide training to the board of directors on governance skills

·  Elaborate Design and present an action plan (recommendations and timeline) for strengthening the cooperative and building trust between the board and members

Qualifications

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

·   Governance, management or internal procedures expert; cooperative development experience desired

·   Strong organizational and project management skills

·   Gender and youth strategies.

·   Advanced Spanish is a plus (However a translator will be available if needed).

·    Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
