Job Description

Summary:

The Technical Supervisor, Show Electrics works in a collaborative production team environment directly with the Manager and Assistant Technical Manager of Electrics and Show Systems.,  This position supports the execution of all aspects of show electrical integration including design, development, installation, facility interface, operation, maintenance, and documentation and ensures compliance with codes, and jurisdictional requirements. Must assure a flawless, and successful completion in alignment with creative, financial, and schedule targets for live shows, atmosphere offerings, and special projects in a themed environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of schedules, punch lists, and electrical documents to effectively communicate workload and timeline to other parties.
  • Ability to independently identify and assign project tasks to complete event installation in a safe, effective, and timely manner while maintaining design intent and show quality.
  • Identify areas for process and workflow improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Assist installation electricians and vendors in identifying conflicts and answering questions, including ensuring the work being completed complies with inspection requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and counts to anticipate any ordering or maintenance needs.
  • Work with all project disciplines to ensure that electrical requirements are met.
  • Ensure all disciplines have necessary materials and storage space by submitting and tracking logistics requests..

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements  

  • Crew or crew lead experience in either a theatrical, touring, events, or  theme park event production environment.
  • Ability to work with limited information, constant change, and identify information that is required to complete assigned installation scope.
  • Confidence to effectively communicate across all lines of business, with all levels of management,  and union trade workers.
  • Strong awareness of Environmental and Electrical Safety standards.
  • Working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules.
  • General knowledge of stage/entertainment practices, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proficient in reading/understanding technical drafting, including both AutoCAD drawings and lighting plots.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in Theatre, Production, Themed Entertainment, or related entertainment field.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Valid CA driver’s license.

Desired Characteristics Background

  • Experience as a theatrical, touring, or events master electrician electrical / lighting crew or working in a similar capacity for themed entertainment.
  • General understanding of show lighting design.
  • Working knowledge of theatrical and/or event electrical systems, including CamLock and other temporary distribution methods.
  • Knowledge of Lightwright, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam software.
  • Basic understanding of code compliant electrical systems and installations a plus.
  • General understanding of electrical system diagrams and load balancing a plus.

o Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
