Job Description
The Corporate HR team at NBCUniversal is looking for an HR Manager to support our Corporate Finance organization, while also serving as an on the ground HR resource for other Corporate Functions with employees in the Philadelphia office.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships, and helping leaders and employees work through both the everyday and more complex people challenges that come up.
In this role, you’ll be a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees across Corporate Finance. Your work will cover employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational and workforce planning, compensation, succession planning, and recruitment. Some days that may mean coaching a manager through a difficult employee situation; others may involve thinking through the structure of a team, identifying development opportunities, or helping plan for future talent needs.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, curious, and comfortable figuring things out. You’ll have room to take ownership, use your judgment, and bring ideas forward, while also having a strong HR team around you to collaborate with. You’ll work closely with partners across Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Employment Law, and other HR teams depending on what the business needs.
Here you can:
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to Corporate Finance leaders and employees.
- Serve as an on-the-ground HR resource for employees and leaders across Corporate Functions in the Philadelphia office, helping address local needs and connect them with the appropriate HR partners and resources
- Coach and advise managers on employee relations, performance, development, and other people-related matters.
- Manage employee relations issues and workplace investigations, partnering with Employment Law when needed.
- Support key talent processes including performance management, compensation planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and employee development.
- Work with leaders to think through organizational needs, team structure, workforce planning, and talent priorities.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring leaders to support recruitment and hiring needs.
- Help leaders and employees understand and navigate HR policies, practices, and programs.
- Use workforce data and employee feedback to spot trends, identify opportunities, and help inform decisions.
- Work closely with HR partners and subject matter experts to find solutions and get things done.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives that improve how we support, develop, and engage employees.
Qualifications
Here you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Labor Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- At least 5 years of progressive professional HR experience
- Experience supporting leaders and employees across a range of HR matters.
- Employee relations experience, including handling sensitive issues and workplace investigations.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
What we'll look for:
- Good judgment and the confidence to work through challenging or sensitive situations.
- Comfortable being a visible HR presence in the workplace and building relationships across different teams and functions.
- Curious about AI and emerging technology, with good judgment about where these tools can make work simpler and more effective.
- A practical problem solver who can get to the heart of an issue and find a path forward.
- A self-starter who takes ownership and keeps things moving without needing a lot of direction.
- Resourceful and comfortable finding answers, bringing in the right people, and figuring things out along the way.
- Able to manage competing priorities and adapt as business needs change.
- Builds trust easily and can be both supportive and candid with employees and leaders.
- Curious about the business and interested in understanding how HR can help it succeed.
