Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Facility Technician! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of building envelopes, systems, equipment, grounds and infrastructure. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conduct preventative maintenance, respond to service calls, escort vendors on site, and collaborate with contractors to ensure the facility operates efficiently, remains safe and is compliant with all regulations.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including critical infrastructure, to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operations
  • Monitor building automation systems (BAS) to optimize energy use, systems performance, and maintain comfortable environments for employees and guests
  • Address and resolve building system failures in a timely manner to minimize disruptions
  • Respond to service requests and emergencies during and after business hours
  • Conduct site inspections and meter readings as required
  • Complete preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work orders assigned through the CMMS and mobile platform
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, equipment performance, repair history, and costs in the CMMS
  • Work closely with the Asset Management team to ensure assets are tagged and data is accurate in the Master Asset List
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) and key performance indicators (KPI’s) with Facility Operations and the Asset Management team
  • Oversee and support vendor and 3rd party contracted services.
  • Schedule and coordinate service calls with internal teams and external vendors
  • Partner with NBCU departments to ensure compliance and safety tasks are addressed promptly 
  • Support emergency preparedness initiatives and attend drills and exercises related to fire, disaster response, and business continuity
  • Adhere to OSHA, ADA and other regulatory requirements
  • Support Facility Operations and support teams with event set-ups
  • Interior & exterior painting and general carpentry tasks as needed
  • Attend bid walks and assist with project oversite when required  
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • 3+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities management or a related field or equivalent
  • Understanding of Class A commercial building operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS)
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and energy efficiency practices.
  • Valid state Class C Driver’s License

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Associates degree or technical certification in building systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Relevant trade license or certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, low voltage)
  • EPA Universal Certification for refrigerants
  • Understanding of Class A high rise operations and REG 4

Additional Requirements:

  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
