Job Description

The Platform Operations team within NBCUniversal’s Intellectual Property Analytics, Operations, and Technology department (IPAOT) is seeking an Analyst to support the management and protection of NBCUniversal’s television, film, and live event content across large video and social platforms. This role will primarily focus on TikTok MediaMatch, while also providing cross-platform support and coverage across other tools including YouTube Content ID and Meta Rights Manager.

The Analyst will help monitor and manage platform tools that identify, claim, protect, and enforce against unauthorized uses of NBCUniversal content. This position plays an important role in supporting NBCUniversal’s broader content protection efforts by ensuring content is properly managed within automated content recognition systems, urgent platform issues are triaged appropriately, and enforcement actions are supported with accuracy and sound judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated protection and enforcement support for NBCUniversal television and film content across major video and social platforms, with a primary focus on TikTok MediaMatch
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain daily platform operation workflows, including platform queues, claims, rights conflicts, reference files, and other action items
  • Provide cross-platform support and coverage across tools such as YouTube Content ID and Meta Rights Manager
  • Triage and act on urgent requests received during normal business hours, including time-sensitive platform, rights, or enforcement issues, and provide occasional evening or weekend support when critical matters arise
  • Support the early activation of reference material for both promotional and full-length content
  • Work closely with IP counsel on enforcement actions, rights questions, and issue resolution
  • Partner with internal brands and business units to understand and support their content protection needs
  • Collaborate with other rightsholders to help resolve ownership conflicts, claims, disputes, and other platform-related issues
  • Work closely with content metadata lead and other internal stakeholders to support proper rights and policy application
  • Help ensure new releases and catalog titles are set up properly in automated content recognition systems; proactively identify and escalate gaps as needed
  • Monitor release schedules across business units and brands, staying up-to-date on upcoming releases, acquisitions, and priority content
  • Assist with the creation of brand- and title-specific reports through data gathering, analysis, and platform insights
  • Report on enforcement activity, platform performance, and revenue operations as directed
  • Identify trends and opportunities based on analytics, platform activity, queue maintenance, and recurring operational issues
  • Use AI tools where appropriate to help identify workflow efficiencies, improve processes, support analysis, and solve operational problems
  • Continuously evaluate platform workflows, tools, and operational processes to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and improved alignment with evolving business needs and the digital content landscape
  • Participate in team planning sessions, workflow discussions, and project reviews
  • Maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional projects as business needs evolve

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a related field
  • Solid understanding of online video and social platforms, such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Understanding of copyright and digital rights management concepts
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, counsel, internal brands, business units, and external rightsholders
  • Ability to independently solve problems, prioritize, and triage urgent or critical issues during normal business hours, with very occasional night or weekend availability when critical issues arise
  • Proven attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience working with TikTok MediaMatch, YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, or similar content recognition systems strongly preferred
  • Passion for film and television content
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with MySQL, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with AI tools and LLMs, with openness to thoughtfully use emerging technologies to solve problems, identify efficiencies, improve team workflows, and support business needs
  • YouTube Digital Rights Certification and experience managing or supporting multiple YouTube channels are a plus
  • Understanding of reporting, analytics, and performance measurement capabilities across major video and social platforms
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve platform-related issues
  • Effective project management, operations, and process improvement experience with the ability to adapt operations within an evolving digital ecosystem
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be a team player, work hands-on, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to interface with all levels of NBCUniversal personnel
  • Curious, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong interest in emerging tools, technologies, and platform trends, including AI
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities

This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the Universal City, CA office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000
