Job Description:

The Director, Sales Planning & Deal Operations, provides operational leadership across First Run Feature content rights tracking, release-date-dependent rights updates, Output Volume deal summaries, 3rd Party and Format deal management, single-title deal qualification analysis, product availability reporting, and monthly/quarterly reporting on transactional licensing insight. While the team owns day-to-day execution, this role is accountable for prioritization, oversight, quality control, issue resolution, cross-functional alignment, and clear progress updates to senior leaders.

Responsibilities:

This position serves as a key operational leader and subject matter expert, partnering with Sales, Sales Administration, Content, Finance and Strategy teams, and other stakeholders to translate deal and content requirements into reliable reporting, strong execution, and timely business support.

  • Lead oversight of content and deal tracking processes, including title-level rights tracking, title creation, title linking, deal qualification, and quality control of key content and rights data.
  • Oversee First Run Feature and release-date-dependent rights workflows, ensuring accurate setup, timely updates, and strong coordination with internal stakeholders and master data teams.
  • Manage title eligibility and deal qualification analysis across volume and single-title deals, including management of key deal and title data points, interpretation of deal requirements, identification of business impacts and exceptions, and communication of qualification outcomes and special handling requirements to stakeholders
  • Manage 3rd-party and format deal workflows, ensuring requests are executed accurately, consistently, and in alignment with deal terms and internal reporting requirements.
  • Oversee recurring and ad hoc reporting, analytics, and business insights, including product availability, transactional licensing activity, episode counts, and title music clearance status, to support sales efforts, strategic planning, and stakeholder decision-making
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Deal Management, Data/Master Data, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, drive alignment, and ensure reliable execution across interconnected workflows.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to senior leaders on key initiatives, reporting deliverables, workflow progress, risks, open items, and issue resolution.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the team by setting priorities, reinforcing accountability, reviewing output quality, supporting follow-through, and ensuring the team remains productive in a high-volume environment.
  • Drive process improvement and operational excellence across rights tracking, deal administration, reporting, and related workflows to improve accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
  • Collaborate across global stakeholders and business units to align priorities, clarify requirements, and support timely business decisions.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in television distribution, media operations, content planning, sales planning, deal management, or a related media business function

Desired Characteristics:

  • People management experience, with the ability to lead, develop, prioritize, and hold teams accountable in a high-volume environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret deal terms, evaluate title eligibility, assess business impact, and make sound operational decisions
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex title- and deal-level data with a strong focus on accuracy, integrity, completeness, and follow-through
  • Highly productive and organized, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring deliverables, and time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly, provide concise progress updates to senior leaders, and collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization
  • High level of ownership, attention to detail, accountability, and judgment

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires employees to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
