The Music Assistant supports the Music Team in the day-to-day execution of the music production process, from script breakdown through final mix and delivery. This role requires close coordination with the music team members, talent relations, casting, post-production, and the broader production team, and is responsible for keeping all music assets, schedules, and trackers organized and up to date throughout the life of each project.

Job Description

Responsibilities: “What would you say you do here?”

  • Coordinate the activities of a multi-faceted department

  • Schedule and coordinate production-related meetings

  • Plan and execute events as needed

  • Support all aspects of vocal recording logistics, including stage prep, talent coordination alongside Talent Relations and Casting departments, asset tracking, and post-session distribution of takes

  • Organize all music assets across production, ensuring materials are uploaded and accessible

  • Update and maintain all music trackers, keeping records current throughout production

  • Conduct script breakdowns to identify and anticipate music needs

  • Collect song info sheets and review cue sheets for accuracy and completeness

  • Fulfill cross-departmental asset requests in coordination with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: “What do I need to have in order to do this job?”

  • 1+ years prior experience in a music production or music assistant role

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple trackers and deadlines simultaneously

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with composers, talent relations, post-production, and production teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including note-taking and meeting follow-up

  • Familiarity with music licensing, recording session logistics, and SAG payment processes is a plus

  • Proficiency with shared trackers, spreadsheets, and file management systems (e.g., shared drives, OMT-style documents)

  • Must display ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information

Desired Qualifications: “What can I offer?”

  • Bachelor’s degree in a music related field

  • Animation experience a plus

  • Experience with pro tools

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

Salary Range: $47,500 - $60,000
