Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sr. Product Manager, Data & Analytics, to join our team within Operations & Technology. In this role you will be responsible for defining and delivering data products, using standard AI technology, and execute a strategic vision for enterprise data platforms and be a thoughtful and experienced leader, responsible for defining and prioritizing requirements for large-scale initiatives. A successful candidate will drive comprehensive data strategy development, execution, and governance while staying current with rapidly evolving data technologies and market trends. They will frequently liaison with the executive leadership & domain owners to gain consensus for a Unified Data Architecture vision and drive collaborative cross domain efforts to ensure impactful product delivery.
The Sr. Product Manager partners closely with Data Engineering, and other Data Domain specific teams to ensure data is accurate, scalable, well-governed, and translated into actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Product Management
- Enterprise Data Platform Architecture: Lead product strategy & development for large-scale data platform solutions, supporting petabyte-scale data processing for analytical workloads
- Universal Data Discovery & Access Solution: Create & govern common platform for data discovery and enable enterprise cross platform data sharing patterns
- Streamlined data consumption: Drive Semantic Modelling and metadata management strategy for BI/AI consumption
- Data Governance and Compliance: Implement enterprise data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, lineage tracking, privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and security standards
- AI Readiness Acceleration: Prepare data infrastructure for advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI applications
- User Adoption: Monitor & Drive user adoption of data platform solutions, own Monthly OKRs to assess success of products
- Data Driven decision making: Use data & insights to inform ongoing product development and find opportunities for efficiency and addressing customer pain points.
- Capture lifecycle for surfacing new features and capabilities from a Sandbox environment for preliminary testing. Operate as a single point of contact between Product Platform and Engineering DE/Platform
- Vendor & Technology Management
- Strategic Vendor Relationships: Serve as key point of contact for data technology vendors, representing enterprise-wide business needs and evaluating emerging solutions.
- Coordinate a single conversation between Data product, Engineering and vendor partner teams
- Technology Evaluation and Selection: Conduct comprehensive assessments of data platforms, tools, and services to support build-vs-buy decisions
- Strategic Risk Mitigation & Vendor Collaboration: Propose and enforce strategies to minimize dependency on vendor roadmaps and to avoid vendor lock in, while ensuring speedy time to market
- Innovation: Identify and pilot emerging data technologies that could provide competitive advantages to the business
- Define a roadmap for our internal platforms including agentic AI, MCP, new feature capability, etc. Coordinate communications across product and engineering teams.
- Strategic Data Platform Leadership
- Develop and Execute Comprehensive Data Strategy: Create and continuously evolve enterprise-wide data strategy that scales with changing market conditions and business requirements across NBCUniversal's diverse brand portfolio
- Executive Stakeholder Management: Gain buy-in and consensus from executive leadership and domain leaders through strategic presentations & ROI analysis
- Market Intelligence: Monitor and assess emerging data technologies, competitive landscape, and industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Experience in media, entertainment, or advertising technology industries
- 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years owning data or analytics products.
- Proven ability to translate complex data and measurement concepts into clear product requirements.
- Advanced technical, quantitative, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with modern data platforms and technologies (cloud data warehouses, BI tools, semantic layers, AI).
- Working knowledge of SQL to validate data, metrics, and analytical outputs.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with media, entertainment, or advertising analytics.
- Experience supporting or building AI-driven analytics solutions or agents.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging AI, LLM, machine learning technologies, and relevant vendor ecosystems.
- Experience operating in Agile product delivery environments.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and enterprise analytics best practices.
- Experience with product and delivery tools like Jira and Confluence.
