Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to grow out and lead a team of Deep Learning engineers who will be pursing an agenda to productionize cutting edge 2D/3D computer vision/graph theory research from academia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management: Steward the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of a scoped machine learning applied science agenda.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact with the infrastructure and data pipeline teams to get the requests of your team addressed.
  • Set Research Agenda: Exhibit strong judgement in derisking core hypotheses and updating research direction informed by ongoing advances in the state of the art.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or related
  • Publication record in top AI/ML/CV venues or other evidence of advancing the state of the art in one or more AI subfields.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a customer facing AI/ML team.
  • Prior experience in industries with complex multi-disciplinary teams such as robotics, smart grids, precision agriculture, game development or aerospace.
  • Prior experience having a team of around 5 direct reports, establishing ways of working, and developing them to be high performing.
  • High attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Ability to translate customer requests and turn them into actionable technical requirement documents in collaboration with ML engineers.
  • Fluency with the entire machine learning lifecycle, including infrastructure for data, training and deployment.
  • Fluency with machine learning fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Python, Git, PyTorch and the Unix shell.
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira/Confluence, Slack, a Git server, an experiment tracking framework, a data dashboard app

  • Experience with Adaptive or Lean methodologies.
  • Organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate and guide a diverse team 
  • An intuition and enthusiasm for launching groundbreaking, deep tech products. 
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
