Job Description
This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6-10 months unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are complete. Please note: this position is based in Monroe, CT.
The Technical Logistics Associate is responsible for supporting logistical functions related to the daily operation of NBC Sports.
Responsibilities:
Warehousing & Material Handling: Manage warehousing, logistics, and facility material handling operations. Pick, pack, ship, and move equipment, pallets, boxes, and freight safely and efficiently.
Shipping & Receiving: Support shipping and receiving activities for mail, packages, and freight. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, handling materials, and preparing equipment for shipment through proper wrapping, strapping, and labeling.
Inventory Control & Asset Tracking: Support the Logistics department with asset tracking and inventory control. Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning and tracking technical equipment, supplies, furniture, wardrobe, cables, and more using computer-based systems.
Advanced Inventory Systems (OEMS): Independently perform basic, intermediate, and advanced OEMS inventory functions, including:
Executing pick lists, scanning, packaging, receiving against purchase orders, and fulfilling shipping requests
Creating and maintaining locations, processing exception receiving, managing subsystem associations, and maintaining the master catalog
Utilizing administrative, setup, handheld, and reporting functions within the system
Procurement & Distribution: Assist with procurement operations, including receiving supplies, tracking purchase orders, and distributing office and non-technical materials through a custom online ordering system.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Sourcing teams to understand and support the interaction between technical logistics and broader operational functions.
Security & Safety: In partnership with the team, perform security screening of goods. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste and materials.
Facility Operations: Open and secure warehouse facilities as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures.
Customer Service: Provide a high level of service and support to internal and external customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of requests.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
3+ years of relevant experience in Television/Production or Logistics/Warehousing
College degree preferred , or equivalent work experience
Physically demanding position, must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
Ability to operate forklift or other MHE, training provided if necessary
Proficient in Microsoft Windows
High level of attention to detail
Ability to interface with all levels of staff and internal customers
Ability to work individually as well as with a team
Strong team player and collaborator
Detail and deadline oriented
Possesses a strong work ethic
Desired Characteristics:
Basic knowledge of broadcast or production logistics or related preferred
Possess a high level of initiative, strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
Prior experience/knowledge of material handling equipment including forklifts
