Job Description

The NBCUniversal Studio Services team is looking for a Director of Production Services Sales & Operations in NYC. In this role, you will proactively lead, support, and accelerate the sales, operations, and growth of our production services businesses, including Set Lighting & Grip, Transportation, Stage Partnerships, and related services.

You will develop and expand market opportunities by cultivating strong relationships with third‑party clients, including film and television production companies, while ensuring our operations are positioned to support production demand with consistency, efficiency, and excellence.

As Director, you are accountable for the strategy, performance, and day‑to‑day execution of the Set Lighting & Grip and Transportation departments, with shared responsibility for commercial results. You will drive operational excellence and support revenue growth through strong leadership, data‑driven performance management, and close collaboration with production partners, vendors, and internal sales and studio teams.

You will oversee workforce productivity, equipment readiness, inventory utilization, and network capacity to ensure operations consistently support production demand and sales commitments. This includes establishing operational standards, optimizing workflows, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring inventory, safety, compliance, and process controls are consistently executed. Your ability to manage complex operations, measure performance, and partner effectively across sales and operations will be critical to delivering a seamless production experience while meeting operational and financial goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage with internal and external physical production leads and third‑party clients to develop, maintain, and grow strong, long‑term relationships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer accounts, including client meetings, presentations, customized service packages, and issue resolution
  • Promote the use of NBCUniversal stages, production services, and equipment across productions. through presentations, marketing platforms, studio/facility tours, and industry events
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop sales strategies to grow the customer base and increase revenue
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting annual revenue targets, projecting volume and profitability, and analyzing performance metrics to adjust strategies as needed
  • Create and present proposals to secure third‑party productions, utilizing rate‑card guidelines and considering studio inventory utilization
  • Lead warehouse and rental operations, ensuring standardized, scalable, and high‑performing processes from order intake through fulfillment
  • Define and maintain operational controls, best practices, and performance expectations to support consistent execution and customer delivery
  • Optimize workforce productivity, warehouse capacity, asset utilization, technical testing requirements, safety practices, and weekly rental activity
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert on specialized rental and capital equipment, including emerging LED, networking, and production technologies
  • Support departmental leadership with personnel management, including performance evaluations, scheduling, timekeeping, coaching, and disciplinary actions
  • Collaborate closely with Studio Operations and cross‑functional partners to ensure client needs are met while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, safety, and exceptional customer service

What You Must Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the Media or Entertainment industry
  • 10+ years of sales leadership or sales management experience
  • 10+ years of senior management experience overseeing production support services within Film and Television
  • 5+ years of experience developing sales strategies and building a client base
  • 5+ years of experience supporting multiple stakeholders, vendors, and customers
  • 5+ years of warehouse and inventory management experience
  • 5+ years of experience using warehouse or inventory management systems (WM/IM)
  • 5+ years of experience managing budgets and capital projects

  • Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to work across multiple operating systems, manage complex data sets, and develop operational reporting (RT Pro experience a plus)
