Academic Year Internship Program Details
Program Dates: September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Miami, FL.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
Telemundo Deportes, the sports division of Telemundo Network, delivers culturally relevant, high-quality sports content across multiple platforms, including live coverage of major events like Liga MX, Premier League, FIFA World Cup, NFL, NBA, and the Olympics. Intern responsibilities include assisting producers with planning and production tasks, coordinating logistics for guests and live shots, handling general office work, arranging travel for key production members, and supporting show elements such as music cue sheets, graphics research, and footage gathering to ensure smooth execution of broadcasts.
TLMD O&T Production Services, This internship provides hands-on exposure to project management within Telemundo, supporting data analysis, planning, and process improvement initiatives. Interns will work alongside Technical Project Managers and gain insight into large-scale projects and cross-functional collaboration, including preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
TLMD O&T Network & Distribution Operations, The Video Distribution Operations team manages the delivery of video content across owned-and-operated platforms, streaming services, and external distribution partners. As an intern, you’ll support day-to-day distribution workflows while gaining hands-on exposure to the tools and processes that ensure content is delivered accurately and on schedule. You’ll also have opportunities to learn from and shadow other Operations & Technology teams to better understand end-to-end media distribution.
TLMD News, Noticias Telemundo is looking for a highly motivated intern with a passion for news on all platforms (broadcast, digital, and mobile). In this position, you will work directly with producers, senior producers, and correspondents to help pitch, write and produce news content for broadcast and the web.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
- Must be willing to work in Miami FL.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet.
- Pursuing a degree in Media Production, Broadcast Operations, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of television or live production environments preferred.
- Passion for sports broadcasting and interest in technical production workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative and teamwork.
The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
